The Blue Line porcelain vessels collection was created in 2013 by Dagmara Rogers and Marek Cecuła. The hand-painted decoration on the vessels’ edges, which is characteristic for this series, brings a pinch of nostalgia, and refers to tableware from the communist period, that was used in milk bars in Poland.
“This set does not directly refer to any design (…). We were looking for new ways to use the no longer used and forgotten method of decorating porcelain with cobalt salt solutions. After removing the dishes from the oven, we noticed an unintended effect – this form of decoration immediately evokes nostalgia for those years,” say the designers.
Blue Line belongs to a product line called ‘hand touched’. This term perfectly indicates the direction in which Marek Cecuła, the designer, goes: “the artist’s total collaboration with industry.” Thanks to this, objects from mass production, through the interference of designers, take on an individual dimension. The touch of the human hand introduces the uniqueness of craftsmanship into the industry, resulting in a unique object.
The Blue Line collection was created by Marek Cecuła’s Modus Design Studio and included permanently in the Ćmielów Design Studio collection.
